Cervical cancer can be eliminated as a public health problem, but barriers remain. The WHO’s 90–70–90 strategy depends on inclusive screening and care for everyone with a cervix.
Equity is essential to elimination.

🧵 1/ Our new @horizoneu.bsky.social funded paper from @cbigscreen.bsky.social just published in Health Policy. With Bulgarian colleagues we examine why Bulgaria continues to face one of the highest cervical cancer rates in the EU, despite the disease being highly preventable.

Key lessons from our CBIG-SCREEN roundtable in Brussels:
• Screening saves lives only when access is equitable
• Increasing uptake lowers long-term costs
• Policy must be co-designed with vulnerable communities
• Reliable systems = better prevention
