I might make an argument for 'acceptance', because I don't think that always ties in with forgiveness. I think this an interesting statement, especially if you look at our lives as stories.

I remember reading a couple of Stephen King books in high school. There were adult situations in the books mixed in with adolescent thems, but they did not inspire me to violence. The books contained excellent storytelling and a way to use those stories to help navigate adolescence.
