what's really awesome about writing your thoughts about pieces of media that you like is that the more you do it the better you get at articulating your feelings, understanding why you feel that way, and explaining it coherently, which is so cool. nonfiction writing is a skill to hone!!! x

Tucked inside the Republican bill for health care subsidies, a clause that would restrict the money from being used for abortion (with exception for rape, incest or life of the mother) or for "any sex trait modification procedure or service."

A sketch of the Arthurian knight Sir Lanval with his fairy lover Lady Aubépine from Marie de France's lai "Lanval". The fairy has no name in the original lai, but she is described as being as white as a Hawthorn blossom, so I decided to go with the french name for Hawthorn. In the sketch foreground, Sir Lanval is dressed in dark mauve clothes embroidered in gold, layered over his hauberk. He also wears a purple belt. His hair is long, wavy and golden red and is blown back by a wind of flower petals. He reaches for his beloved with open arms. Lady Aubépine is a pale towering figuring with matching thick wavy hair that's adorned with purple flowers and green leaves. Her clothes are also pale and transparent and a bit revealing on the top. The collar is very open with white ermine trim draping down her shoulders. A loose purple shawl also drapes on her arms as they dance in the wind. She reaches towards her lover with one hand as she gracefully floats towards him. In the background are yellow flowers in the green shrubbery with the Lady's fairy attendants patiently waiting. They are also dressed in purple with light purple hair. One of them has transparent insect wing.
