I saw this take in an art streamer's chat and the streamer halfheartedly agreed with them and I'm just like, man, why are we pushing beginners away and making them *more* afraid to practice and use references? Geez man

You don't need to follow made up rules from other artists like "don't rely on a reference too much or copy it more than 60%", which is effectively another way to say "don't use references" in a weirdly manipulative tone.

Do what you want, there are no rules <3
