Great choice of colours and nice change for the usual spectral blue/green that these are most often presented.
Decided to paint something else than #spacemarines or #wh40k for a change.

So I grabbed old #heroquest box from 1990 and did a quick skeleton to a "table-top standard".

..unfortunately, 3/4 skeleton #miniatures are missing from the box.
Close-up of the darkest-skinned fella. I love how he looks, but realised how hard it is to get a good picture of his features against the bright background.
Another angle. Here they act as combat patrol squad of four neophytes, led by a sword brethren.
Some neophytes/scouts painted up and slightly altered with sculpted hair or some other very minor adjustments.

I wanted to practice with skin variations a bit, and I do like how these turned out.

More shots in comments.

Moved all of my unbuilt marines from the "unassembled" -pile to "unpainted" -pile and got a bit carried away with small conversions and GS sculpting to make some models feel more personal.
Last picture shows all of 22 marines I build during the weekend.

But just those 6 did get some special treatment.

Those four intercessors were kinda left over ones, so I decided to try out if I could do those sculpts on them.
Spend my saturday building up all of my backlog marines -that's 22 miniatures.

Now, I was not a fan of starter set characters, so I ended up doing some very small customizations to make 'em feel my own. Now I can't wait to paint 'em!

I agree. With right paintjob these look rather awesome and terrifying -your interpretation is a great example!
Few individual marines, that can be used as characters.
First one was kitbashed to act as my kill team captain, second is just assault squad sarge. Third one is my sword brother to use in Black Templar combat patrol.

Last pic is just comparison between capes I've painted.

Shot taken before varnishing. Here you can see all the options I painted up.
Side sponsons have been magnetized, everything else just fits well as they are, so I didn't magnetize other options.
Impulsor for my Frostvoid Wardens. Have to say, painting this started to feel like a chore at some point, and I was glad to finally call it finished.
But I really, really like to look at it now.

Have to say, I really like how the cape looks like it's a bit shred by those spiky bits of the shield!
I took that combat patrol and joined a small league at LGS. Had my first match this wednesday against some Emperors Children. Had my Wardens beat pretty badly, 15-70. But that was fun!
Few shots of what I've painted so far of my space marine army, the Frostvoid Wardens homebrew chapter.

That is an Impulsor, 10 intercessors, crusader squad, and kitbashed captain & chaplain.

Last picture is my "black templar" combat patrol.

How gorgeous is this ttrpg by @threesailsstudios.bsky.social ?

Mappa Mundi is actually first thing I have ever backed in kickstarter, and it definately seems and feels well worth it!

This seems to have a great attitude towards nature and adventure.

Can't wait to get some chronicles rolling!
That battle damage makes "simple" look really nice!
And here he is, "Keeper of the Frostvoid Wardens", fully finished for now.

Ended up almost stripping him after I kept adding layers and felt like I nearly ruined him. But now I am happy with him.

First some Rampart terrain from Archon studios, then converting a Black Templar marshall to serve as chaplain to ly chapter.
For some reason, I really like how he is turning out.

My original idea was to make a hood over his head, to make him look a bit more menacing and dark. But now I am not so sure of it. Should I add a hood?
WIP: Had a Black Templar marshall lying around, and I thought that with this amount of bling, he wasn't a good fit for my chapter as an captain. So, I did little converting, and thought he works fine as an Chaplain. Or what do you think?

Holy emperor! These are beautiful work!

I love the cleanliness and smoothness of the colors, as there is still a very grimdark feel to these despite being "clean" looking.
And those flames pop out brilliantly!
Here is my current #pathfinder character as an heroforge miniature: Amas Muorra, herbalist druid, the group healer.

Painted just for fun, as it is online campaign.
Any c&c is welcome about the paintjob or photography, as these were pretty much a photo practice shots.
