Howard Ziehm's cult classic FLESH GORDON will be screened right after our film, too - and I'll be there for all the presentations and Q&As. Hope to see some of you there!

I'm excited to announce that our documentary FINDING PLANET PORNO: THE WILD JOURNEY OF AMERICAN CINEMA'S FIRST OUTLAW will be screened twice at the PornFilmFestival Berlin this week!

Friday October 24 - 8.45pm (Moviemento)
Saturday October 25 - 6pm (Babylon Kreuzberg)
Our documentary FINDING PLANET PORNO will be screened at the Festival du nouveau cinéma (nouveaucinema.bsky.social) in Montréal, Canada, today (October 13 - 3.30pm) and on Thursday (October 16 - 9pm)! I'll do a Q&A at both screenings!

We talked a lot during the festival – he spoke Spanish, I spoke English, and with the help of his cousin Julie (who often translated for us), some modern technology and a lot of gestures & intuition, we proved that cinema is a universal language which brings people together beyond words.
It's an amazing, visually exhilarating piece of work which quickly draws you into a specific world of myth & legend – and then connects it to a sad and brutal political reality. I can't wait to see what Jorge will come up with next.
Another talented filmmaker I met at last month's Oldenburg Film Festival was Jorge Florez Arcila from Colombia. He was there for the world premiere of his short film THE FLOWER OF FEAR, which won the award for Best Short Film.
When Alejandro won the award, there was an absolutely thrilling & generous moment when he actually gave a shoutout to our documentary FINDING PLANET PORNO in his acceptance speech! It means a lot, and I'm so happy for them that their film is getting this kind of recognition.
Following three young men through their aimless & immature lives, HARAKIRI is a tough and edgy film, often upsetting and intense – it's raw and honest, and it's shot in a vibrant near-documentary style that's exciting to watch.
It was great to be able to meet so many creative, cool & like-minded filmmakers at this year's Oldenburg Film Festival. These two gentlemen here are director Alejandro Castro Arias & his producer Juan Galindo, whose feature film debut HARAKIRI I MISS YOU won the award for Best First Film!
Here's a photo of a relaxed interview session, with festival director Torsten Neumann, fellow filmmaker Douglas Buck and myself gently interrogating Don & Barry about their lives & careers.
One of the highlights was being part of the Don Opper retrospective – meeting Don & his brother Barry (best known for CRITTERS & ANDROID) as well as Don's wife Denise, hosting Q&A sessions with them, having a lot of good conversations with them & discovering some really crazy mutual connections.
I have so many wonderful memories of this year's Oldenburg Film Festival. Met a ton of great people & amazing artists, had 2 fantastic screenings of our doc FINDING PLANET PORNO & just had a lot of fun chatting with everybody about this strange & beautiful passion of ours: making & watching movies.
Our documentary FINDING PLANET PORNO: THE WILD JOURNEY OF AMERICAN CINEMA'S FIRST OUTLAW gets a mention by The Hollywood Reporter as part of an article about the line-up of this week's Oldenburg film festival! Makes you feel kinda grown-up.

Stewart's first feature as a director premiered in Un Certain Regard in Cannes and was picked up for North America by The Forge.

One last photo from this year's BUT Film Festival, with festival director Ryan Oomen. It was a pleasure and an honor to be invited to present our documentary FINDING PLANET PORNO & meet so many cool, like-minded people. And now it's off to my next stop: the Oldenburg film festival!
At the BUT Film Festival, I shared an AirBnB with British filmmaker Jim Groom – a perfect opportunity to watch Jim's films REVENGE OF BILLY THE KID and ROOM 36! Both films are wonderfully deranged & stylish, have a wicked sense of humor, and they're shot on gloriously grainy 16mm – a real discovery!
Such a pleasure to meet Brazilian filmmaker Rodrigo Aragão, producer Mayra Alarcón & actor Caio Macedo at the BUT Film Festival! They presented their latest film PRÉDIO VAZIO & their previous film O CEMITÉRIO DAS ALMAS PERDIDAS. Love how they combine gripping horror, gore & poetic storytelling.
Thanks! I was at your screening and it was cool to hear people cheering at the end. I couldn't stay, unfortunately, because I had to catch my train - but congrats on the good reception!
The first screening is on September 12 at midnight, and there's another one on September 13 at 2.30pm. I'll be there to introduce both, of course! Hope to see you there.

I'm thrilled & honored to announce that our documentary FINDING PLANET PORNO will be screened at this year's Oldenburg Film Festival! Amazing - this festival was listed as one of the "25 coolest film festivals in the world" by MovieMaker Magazine.
One of these two gentlemen is an 11-time world kickboxing champion. So cool to meet Don "The Dragon" Wilson at this year's BUT Film Festival and chat about his movies, his work with Roger Corman, his memories of his best friend Chris Penn, and much more!
