Maxxxine is absolutely a fun time, but I found it tonally felt out of place in the franchise. If it was the first one, I probably wouldn't have watched the rest. Definitely a fun 80s crime caper though, and embraces all the camp of the time.

Yes, by a lot! X was a great tribute to 70s horror, MaXXXine was a movie indeed (not bad, but almost felt like an extended coda), but Pearl was the one I watched and fell in love with. That is one of the greatest performances of all time.
