It's a bit of an oversimplification, but VF has a lot of strong "rock paper scissors" situations: attacks are throw immune, blocking ends the attacker's "turn", and throws will catch a blocking player. This "three structure" exists in all fighting games, but it's especially clear in VF.

Interesting #VirtuaFighter chat on the VF Community Discord about mechanics like VF5 Vanilla’s THROW CLASH mechanic and the PURE TRIANGLE of most VF where ATTACK > THROW.

Some don’tt like it when throw is thwarted by a weak attack.

I argue the pure triangle in #VF5REVO is more interesting!
