On the occasion of the release of the book San Michele Cemetery Island for Damocle Edizioni a few years ago, I left a small frame with each protagonist’s portrait on their grave. A small gesture for people who loved #Venice, as I do.

Yahia Barzaq, a Palestinian photographer from #Gaza, was killed by an Israeli drone in Deir al-Balah on Sept 30, 2025.
He was 35. From newborn portraits to the frontlines of war, he kept documenting life until his final photograph.
