Time for a new intro post. Hi, I'm Chaos, a 3D Generalist. I make 3D models for animation, games and 3D printing. I also do short animations, motion graphics and postproduction.

Many good updates are coming with 5.0 for sure. Blender's hair system is extremely performant. Together with cycles and simulation, I believe it is becoming a viable alternative for many productions. Also yes, in 5.0 Cycles got a new strand type which handles custom normals better, Linear 3D curves.

Rigging a model with fur has it's own pitfalls. Always make sure to fully test it with the fur visible.
