I reopened one this morning too. Although I've never exactly gelled with masto, once this one was dubbed the next Twitter, it brought Twitter with it.

As someone who never liked Twitter to begin with (even in its "golden era" 🙄), that's not a good thing to me.

I'm only here for people I like.

*chimes in* trial-and-error.

Instead of a take on how I was already dressing, I went head-first into what I *wanted* to wear (colourful dresses, skirts+cardigans, etc.), adapting as I could through trial-and-error until things mostly settled.

I really liked using it! If it weren't for it being bit behind in Gnome support, I'd be using the somewhat-similar deadbeef today.

I usually had something like this (Geoshell, 3dcc, custom marlett, etc.).

I clearly did not update the Firefox shortcut from Firebird even though they had renamed it that February.

(I guess I can’t be *too* wistful on the computer front. I get the same feel today with Debian/Gnome. I’ll always miss E16, but things move on.)

Sometimes it would be lovely to go back to what I had with Trillian, with my ICQ, MSN, and (admittedly rare) AIM buddies.

My little customized Win2k install (3Dcc, custom marlett) and Winamp. So nice. Calm.

It really is! Even when they will be supportive, it still is. It still warms my heart to hear of parents who are!

(My mom is, and as I’ve written here before, my dad, now deceased, would have *wanted* to be, but would not have found it in himself.)
