New pinned post!

I'm Ben, 34 he/him, and I am a musician, streamer, and politcally left audio engineer from Germany.

I stream video games two times a week on twitch and upload a new patch with my modular synth every saturday.

Preaching the words of Disco Elysium.

Precognition lacks in hindsight.

Also shoutout to another childhood favourite of mine: "Mäx! ein Tropfen boxt sich durch" (basically "Max! - a drop fighting for his life"), a weird ass Lemmings clone with a sentient rain drop that wants to become delicious mineral water.
Sponsored by the German Lobby for Mineral Water.
Cover of the German advertisement game "Mäx! - ein Tropfen boxt sich durch", featuring the main character (a water drop with eyes) and a black coal looking monster with angry eyes in a weird cave system with a river of lava between them.

Also: In both games you had to pick out a fitting outfit for Harry from his wardrobe, which featured a lot of outfits that never got games, like an astronaut suit.
Also also: While you picked the outfit, Harry was naked. Rabbit dong and all.

Ben shows off weird German stuff part 2/e:

While US americans had Pyjama Sam and Putt-Putt, we had Harry Hops. Two small adventure games with a rabbit, voice acting, and yes, even the classic "click on thing and watch a small animation"-business.
A Screenshot from the German kids adventure video game "Harry Hops auf Schatzsuche", featuring a very cluttered basement with spider webs, a grandfather clock, a pirate portrait and way more, with the main character (a cartoon rabbit in a pyjama that has carrots on it) standing in front of an open treasure chest, looking into the camera. There is a simple adventure UI at the bottom, showing what items the palyer has.

The reclaiming/reframing of frogs as Antifascist after enduring years of the execrable Pepe is glorious and I am here for every scrap of new heroic frog art

Yeah, as a kid I loved it, but of course didn't know the backstory of the power rangers production, I was just like "cool, they made unique monsters just for the game!"

It's still a cool beat em up.

7 reasons why The Thing (1982) is a Christmas film:

1) snow
2) bearded men concealing surprises
3) compulsory party games
4) introverts shunning group activities
5) digestive issues
6) revellers bursting open to reveal partially assimilated canine lifeforms
7) knitwear

I know he's a prolific and influential musician, but every time I hear is name now I have to think back to a friend going "dun dun Schaddn anner wann", and it makes me crack up.

Like the quote from Predator goes: "If it breeds, we can fill it."

... I'm sorry.

What the frog happened? Apparently FF11 is still widely played? I didn't even know you could still play it legitimately.

In Discworld, cities thrive because they welcome dwarfs, trolls, vampires, and humans alike. Ankh-Morpork works because everyone belongs. Funny how fiction can seem more humane than policy sometimes.

At the moment I'm finding it not there 😅 I hope it arrives by the end of this week.

I was about to say "what the hell, is that that one boss from the Power Rangers SNES game?"

A neat little thing I like to do when DMing a ttrpg group is having a 30-40 second long intro music. Not only does it set the mood, but it's also a subtle, yet effective way of transitioning from small talk to gameplay.

I just finished the one I did for my next campaign.
