Election Judges must meet all of the requirements listed in the application, including being:
- a US citizen
- a registered voter in Cook County (if 18 or older)
- able to speak, read and write English

In Illinois, you don’t register with a party. At the primary, you simply choose which party’s ballot you want. You can switch each primary. If you pick non-partisan by mail, you may not get a ballot if no non-partisan issues are on it.
16-year-olds may pre-register to vote online through the Illinois State Board of Elections website at ova.elections.il.gov - to pre-register, you must have a driver's license or state ID and the last four digits of your social security number.
