Together, we explored how reference strains of the pathogenic yeast, Candida glabrata, alter gene expression, cell wall composition, and host interactions after a short period of fluconazole or voriconazole treatment. Great teamwork, check it out!

While perturbing the C. glabrata mannan cell wall layer seemed slightly host-protective in oral epithelial infection models, it led to much worse outcomes systemically.
