We didn't get a full count today, due to scheduling conflicts, but the memorial grows more every week.

We'll be collecting children's clothing donations at the NW corner of Macomb's Chandler Park from noon to 1:00 this Saturday (10/11).

Thankfully, no one was injured this time, but it reminded us that every human makes mistakes, and mistakes involving firearms are some of the most dangerous.

One of our recent donations included this shirt from MacArthur, our local public preschool. Days after we received the donation, this disturbing incident was in the news: A police officer accidentally discharged a weapon while participating in an event at MacArthur Preschool.

Once all 453 children are represented, we plan to hold marches, carrying all 57 lines through the streets, and stationary memorial vigils.

We hope that visualizing the vast scale of this loss of innocent, young lives will inspire viewers to work together to prevent gun violence in American schools.

Each clothes line can hold eight outfits. This means we will need 57 lines to display outfits representing all 453 American children killed, to date, at a K-12 school. We have already displayed lines at vigils (as seen in our profile photo) and at rallies, as shown here.

The School Shooting Victims Memorial project is gathering used children's clothes and assembling them onto lines that can be hung or carried. Our current goal is to display one complete outfit (a dress, or a shirt + pants/skirt) for every child killed due to gun violence in a U.S. K-12 school.
