Nearly two children in every classroom in England have asked for mental health support.

For many, mental health issues begin in childhood.

This #WorldMentalHealthDay, it's important to understand how vital early support is to tackle problems before they become overwhelming.
Blue background, white box with text in black reading: 'Every child deserves to be heard before they reach crisis point. Early support hubs and drop in centres are lifelines for teenagers - safe spaces where they can talk to a trusted professional and get help quickly before problems become overwhelming.' As #PartyConference season draws to a close, we’re reflecting on a successful month engaging key stakeholders, elevating young voices and discussing ways to address the challenges facing young people.

Thank you to all MPs, Councillors & staff for their time and support.
A panel of 5 people sat at a table with a screen behind them showing a bar chart, and a board behind them with logos of children's charities, like The Children's Society, NSPCC, Action for Children, National Children's Bureau. A group of 6 people stood in front of an orange The Children's Society banner, holding cards calling for children's wellbeing. A group of 10 people stood against a white wall, smiling at the camera at the Labour Party Conference.

Last week, we welcomed the Baton of Hope, a national symbol of suicide prevention, to Time for young people in Torbay.

We handed out wellbeing packs, offered advice, and wrote wellbeing wishes.

Next week, we are running an online course for anyone supporting young people in a professional capacity to explore and challenge gender stereotypes.

Brogan, a Young Trustee at The Children’s Society, left us with a powerful message of hope - reminding us that with the right support, the potential of young people is limitless.

4.5 million young people across the UK are in poverty.

This will only increase if the two-child limit is not removed.

We believe that young people’s wellbeing is not up for debate. By scrapping the policy, more children can access essentials they need for a happy childhood.

We hosted great discussions on young people's health and wellbeing as part of the Youth & Skills Day. Young people's wellbeing needs to be a national priority with the voices and experiences of young people driving this. We need holistic strategies and approaches to enrich their lives.

Children’s wellbeing and happiness is the greatest marker of a successful society.

Yet, we don’t measure it.

A national wellbeing measurement would ensure young people’s experiences are understood and their concerns addressed.
