neverending story part 2 wasn't as well pulled off, but the visual of easy wishes costing you losing memory of what you used to know as a marble for the witch is a perfect AI parable. trades memory of his mother dying to cancer so he can juggle, a trivial idea he didn't even care about moments prior

hey remember when Microsoft tried to change all of Windows into this format saying that the future of everything was going to be tablets and touch screens, then everybody said nah it will not you're just wrong and pretty bad, then it mostly of got phased out, anyway that but now for AI in everything

it's all like if texas instruments announced they're replacing their entire line of calculators with boxes that have a little microphone for natural language input instead of buttons, get the answer fundamentally wrong around half the time, and require a subscription. previous models are unavailable
half of all tech news lately is some variation of "the computer company has discontinued their well known product, the computer"

As Greg points out, the Times thinks they're doing a dunk on Pretti, when actually they're providing evidence of *motive.* The ICE agents should be charged with Murder 1.
So the homicide was premeditated. Planned in advance. Agents knew they wanted to kill him, so they prepared for the opportunity and took it.
