#TheMostInterestingThinginMentalHealth: What if #trauma focused therapy for young people, isn't working the way we thought it would?
A new trial N=120. No differences at therapy end, but 11 months later, reduced anxiety, fewer panic attacks. It takes time👇

The review highlights two existing measures for screening for postpartum anxiety. Existing #CBT evidence based protocols/therapies could be used to target some of the concerns e.g. intrusive thoughts, worry but work in more bespoke, tailored theoretical models & targeted therapies would good steps 😊

Thank you 🙏. I agree with Feldman et al. that 1st step is a unified definition of postpartum anxiety & longitudinal studies. There is undoubtedly a complex relationship between postpartum anxiety, sleep deprivation, breastfeeding and bonding - it needs to be better understood for better treatments.

Through the mental lens: core beliefs & psychosis.

Negative beliefs like “I’m worthless” or “others can’t be trusted” are strongly linked to hallucinations, paranoia & suicidality.

A new systematic review analysed 79 studies. 🧵

Definitely one for the “Letters” Publications section of your CV. Not sure if the Economist will give you a doi for it though 😂

Brian Wilson has passed away, one of the greatest American musicians. I saw him perform live in 2002 with family at Edinburgh Playhouse. It remains one of best concerts I’ve ever been to. His music has profoundly touched many people’s lives. “Love and Mercy”. Rest In Peace.
