Berwick upon Tweed. Still at war with Imperial Russian. An urban myth, but a good one, with some evidence.

London pub with a famous owner. And a Gormley figure in the river.

Just got back from two weeks of work in Iraq. Met folk with severe trauma. I've been many times, but always fall into some sort of reflective maelstrom when I get home. Does my work make a positive impact on that fragile society? I work in education so of course it does. Am I right?

I’m not a huge fan of parsnips but those parsnips with Chorizo and sherry and also Chilli, garlic and basil roasties have got my name on them.

As incoming president, I'd like to congratulate all the speakers accepted for the IATEFL conference in Edinburgh next year. Looking forward to a joyous few days. #IATEFL2025 #IATEFL

Delighted to be part of this now award-winning team. DEI in action.
It doesn't happen every day, but sometimes hard work pays off. Thrilled for our team and for everyone who works with us. #mentoringworks #elt

This is interesting stuff, in particular around the percentage of energy use variation by country and the improving efficiency of data centres. Only part of the story but interesting. @vickysaumell.bsky.social
What’s the impact of artificial intelligence on energy demand?
The International Energy Agency (IEA) thinks we should all chill out a bit.

We really need future COPs to be hosted by non-fossil -fuel producers with reasonable green commitments at gov. level. Oh and speaking in an intersectional way, with decent human rights too.

Oh oh, I've just had a "hello Babe" message on here. Dealt with, but that's a pity but I suppose inevitable.

Although most of my adult life has been in London I'm now in rural Scotland much of the time. When in London I'm now a kid in a sweet shop. Do kids still go to sweet shops. Maybe all we have now are those American Candy places that make my headache.

London innit.

It's quite nice here isn't it. Like the debating society in a liberal arts college, with leafy grounds. Well-behaved folk enjoy gin with their friends and putting the world to rights. How long until a fight breaks out I wonder.
