I know that the emissions cost of battery manufacturing is higher than we’d like but over the life of the car surely they are a lot better than internal combustion engine vehicles? By the way it was lovely to walk around Oslo and not have to smell petrol and diesel!
10 days in Norway just blew me away.
EVs aren’t the future, they are everywhere. 99% of new cars sold last year were electric. The formula? Polluters pay & EV drivers get rewarded. Turns out when you get the incentives right, change happens rapidly. #netzero #auspol

Define the “national interest“ Murray Watt? Should projects that increase emissions be prevented in the national interest? They should be! #Auspol #Insiders
AEMO’s 2025 ESOO shows record solar, wind & storage investment has made Australia’s energy system MORE reliable than last year. Yet Tim Wilson claimed the opposite (multiple times) on Afternoon Briefing & was unchallenged by Patricia Karvelas. 🙄 #Auspol #ABC

Trump says nuclear weapons testing to resume in US after more than 30 years
The testing is necessary to keep pace with weapons programmes in China and Russia, according to Trump.

Rio Tinto could invest in a few wind turbines or solar arrays plus batteries if they were really interested in keeping Tomago open at a lower cost.
Well that’s a shame. We don’t need nuclear subs and we don’t need to get involved in any American wars if that’s part of the deal.
Only where they are too frightened of the political fall out to rock the boat imo
I’ll be shocked if Donald Trump wins the Nobel Peace Prize today.

No surprise that despite majority community support we still don’t have a ban on gambling advertising when the Albanese government accepts money from companies like Sportsbet for their fundraising.

When will they put Australians ahead of gambling companies?

Sport should build community, not normalise an addiction like gambling. The fact this partnership is now so entrenched that calling it out gets you banned from a parliamentary sports club shows how far we’ve strayed. #Auspol www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...
