RIP: Tom Stoppard. My commonplace books are rife with bits of Stoppard's plays I've collected over the years, but the simple bit I keep returning to most of late is from _Jumpers_, Dottie quoting Archie, her psychiatrist:

It’s not the voting that’s democracy, it’s the counting

How is Dora Jar not more widely acclaimed (by those who appreciate indie pop at least)? So good...and apparently I literally just missed her in concert here! Blurgh. → www.dorajar.world

The problem with Heather McHugh's #poetry is every time I read it, I want to copy *every* poem to my #commonplace book.

Is there an app that will automatically add "(in my opinion)" to every declarative statement I type anywhere in public? Or my new favorite diminutive parenthetical, (imo obvs)?

I am enswooned by @malaika-h.bsky.social's new site, featuring a heatmap-with-linked-flyout-overleaf-thingamajig of her astounding number of published #crossword puzzles (562 at the moment! But probably 575 by the time I press publish in a minute or two).

LAST DAY!

Thanks to some generous folks, we hit our goal this morning. This means we are giving $7K EACH to our 5 funds!

HOWEVER—don’t let the fact we reached our goal dissuade you from donating. Abortion funds need our help now more than ever!
