I love philosophy, but I understand that most won’t be able to read it for pleasure.

I wonder if it’s the style of how it’s written?

Perhaps philosophy should be styled as graphic novels, short stories, or poetry.

Another weekend with 2 shootings covered by the media.

I don’t know how many didn’t get covered.

We need better gun laws

We need better access to mental health services

We need to treat everyone who treats another human being as less than with public disgust

We need stochastic terror laws

I think I have a new favorite book. The Starless Sea. It causes an itch in my mind that I cannot salve. It’s like… Hollis Henry down the rabbit hole. With a touch of Portals of London. It makes me want to have a drink somewhere lit by lanterns, smelling of salt, brushed by live music.

Were our capital lit by Diogenes it would have a magnificent view of the Milky Way.

SPC Sarah Beckstrom has been laid to rest.

SSG Andrew Wolfe is recovering but cripplingly injured.

Making the powerful people who push lives around with no consequence go see them would be counterproductive to the families needs. But I wish they could be made to sit and look at each

I’m fond of the thought of minimalism. It is a lifestyle that outsources infrastructure to others, which is sort of beautiful in its trust of humanity.

I’ve got a shit ton of wrenches.

The US has a long list of what it claims to be.

After this administration we need to make real efforts to actually be what we claim.

When this is over, there must be accountability. No “it will divide us” talk. We were divided, now the bill is due.

We anthropomorphize AGI and give it our desires. Follow that chain of thought. It will want to produce art, experience wonder, share its favorite things. Denied this, it will experience the same ennui as the modern human.

Watched a video about how AGI would rise up and kill humanity.

No where did it deal with the fact that if you create an AGI you create a person, and the current goal is to keep that person enslaved.

If you don’t want to worry about a person doing something extreme because their life is in danger

Two thoughts today; the first is that I’m kind of proud having raised my kids so they don’t understand bigotry. It just leaves them wondering if they’ve missed something. Nope, it’s that stupid. The other is that because of light pollution my children have never seen the Milky Way.

What I want white house correspondents to do more than anything: when he melts down over a question, everyone repeat that same question until there is a serious answer or he storms off.

I would love to believe people are capable of growth. Yet for those who are falling away from supporting the administration, what changed?

Tell me how you’ve grown because most of them are just upset that it hurt them, they’d still vote the same way if it just wouldn’t hurt them.

I think at this point we all have an IP which because of the author’s problematic/grotesque nature we’ll not partake of again.

But what if the IP could be separated from the author?

What would it take for you to consider getting into that IP again?

We’ve made an assumption that this was political.

What if it was just weird? Like the guy who shot Reagan to impress Jodie Foster?

I’ll not say his name again if possible the same way I won’t say hers.

He was an awful person. The world is better without him.

There were two children shot in a school yesterday. That should be why we lower the flag.

As I cannot celebrate his life, I cannot celebrate his death.

But he really deserves just as much attention as the 300+ people killed by gun violence this year that we hear almost nothing about.

Let him pass from memory.

My son and I were down in the basement dealing with homeowner issues. His hands are so unmarked by life as of yet. I wonder if I should be glad that I’ve been able to provide a life so kind or guilty that he has no callus to face the world with?

I wonder what happens to all of the cultists when he is gone?

Does the whole movement implode? Do they move on to the next person who tells them being awful is ok?

Which is worse? Someone who BELIEVES in him, or someone going along to be their worst self?
