The calculated hatred & vendetta Kirk had for academia was clearly pathological. It was enabled & legitimised by MAGA who gave him KPI’s & he got to justify his manipulation of vulnerable students as free speech as he recruited them. A disturbingly brilliant scheme.

you'd think a prominent news outlet like the New York Times might mention that "antifa" isn't an actual organization in a long story about antifa, but nope!

and the subhead helps props up a false claim this professor was up to something seedy as something up for debate

NYT headline: "Rutgers Expert on Antifa Tries to Flee to Spain After Death Threats"

subheadline: "Mark Bray was teaching courses on antifascism. Turning Point USA accused him of belonging to antifa, which he denies. His flight to Spain was canceled abruptly on Wednesday night."

Yes we know that but for the fossil fuel industry fighting to keep coal and gas their misinformation arguments are peppered with gems like ‘yeah but the steel used is blah,’ and punters believe it. This changes the game by reducing that argument to dust.

The average Sydney rent just rose again to over $750/week. Some suburbs are seeing an 8% increase. That’s not sustainable.

Interest rates are stable. Yet the investors & real estate agents keep putting up rents to meet ‘market values’ & renters have no choice.

I was more concerned this morning by Tim Ayres saying on ABC Radio National that ‘gas is a transition fuel’. If the emissions are 80x worse for short term warming then that ain’t a transition fuel that’s an accelerator.

We have quite strict gun laws in Australia but the US NRA are very active here and trying to water down our laws. A few politicians are helping them there but the vast majority of Australians want stricter gun laws.

From all reports there are more guns in private residences now than before John Howard’s amnesty.

Guns sitting around houses are a problem waiting to happen don’t you think? I dare say yesterday’s shooting had something to do with that and either way we don’t want to be the USA.
