GNR is a pretty big get for Mystic Lake Amphitheater’s inaugural year; as opposed to the other two classic-rock shows announced there last week.

I love that new record by the Beths, playing the Palace on Sat. Also spotlighted for the coming week: Ike Reilly’s annual Thanksgiving Eve blowout, a cool tribute that ties Lead Belly to Minnesota, Samara Joy and twofer arena show by two big ‘80s hitmakers.

Charley will be back at Blue Ox Music Fest next year after getting rained out last time. It's a really fun and more eclectic lineup than usual imo. Whoever is playing, the June fest usually sells out, so don't sleep on tix if you want to go.

Did we really need another version of Gordon Lightfoot’s 1976 epic? Maybe not, but Jeremy Messersmith needed to get his adaptation out of his head by today, a story that exemplifies the song’s lasting “all-consuming” power.
