The reason why I don't take "animation is cinema" seriously is because the term got warped by people with limited media palettes so they could validate the fact they're 30 and exclusively watch cartoons aimed at 12 to 14 year olds rather then the phrase's original meaning of respecting the art form

I agree Legend of Korra is a weak follow up to Avatar the Last Airbender and had no reason to exist. But that doesn't make it a bad show on its own at all and it is worth checking out because it can be enjoyable the majority of the time.

I say this as someone very much guilty of having several takes like this in the past that I no longer stand by.
