In 2008, the State of Ohio set a goal to generate 25% of energy with renewable sources by 2025. Instead, the State has stifled these goals by making it functionally impossible to build wind farms through arbitrary set back requirements.
'25% generation by 2025': Where did Ohio’s Clean Energy Law go?
A bipartisan vote in 2008 codified the goal that 25% of energy generated in Ohio would come from renewable sources by 2025. But that number is only at 5% this year. What happened?

Landfill space is limited; it’s more important than ever to recycle. Download the PickUp CBUS app to learn what you can recycle.

Remember:
- Never bag recyclables.
- Recycling goes in your BLUE curbside bin.
- OR find a free recycling drop-off dumpster at RecycleRight.org

Corporations should pay for their usage & infrastructure. But we also need more energy generation!

📢Clean energy is the fastest to deploy!
So why does the Ohio Leg. put needless regulations on clean energy projects? To manufacture an energy crisis for Fossil Fuel interests.

Thank you to all of the residents who shared your knowledge and passion and to my colleagues in the Building and Zoning Division for helping to make this important change a reality.
Columbus is planting change. With new legislation championed by Councilmember @christopherwyche.bsky.social, we’re creating space for pollinator gardens — a simple, powerful step toward greener neighborhoods and healthier ecosystems.
July 1, 2025 at 3:21 PM
Due to habitat loss, pesticide use, and changes in our climate, pollinator populations are declining dramatically. Here in the City of Columbus, we want to remove barriers to supporting these important members of our ecosystem.

Pollinator gardens are now exempt from noxious weed code!
