Over chai lattes and a quickly devoured pumpkin muffin, my 13-year-old let me interview her for CHRONIC about what it's like having a #chronicpain mom. I'm in awe of her candor and so glad she could contribute! #chronicpain #motherhood #writing #chronic

On day 5 of a bad pain flare, callous assholes are about to cause millions of people to lose food assistance, and 3 miles from my house, a dictator is destroying public property. Time to stare at the dog & figure out how to make any part of this suck just a little bit less.

Today emailing #chronicpain #writers I'm hoping to interview for my book is #writing. (And surprisingly nerve-wracking!)

So honored and excited to announce that Third Rail Press will be publishing my book CHRONIC in Fall 2027!!! @elisasaphier.bsky.social, we did it!

I'd love to talk to as many #chronicpain #mothers out there as possible - if this is you and you're interested in being interviewed, please reach out.

And yet somehow the stereotype that women are too emotional for leadership roles persists.

God bless Marina Hyde for putting into (delightfully cutting) words everything that was wrong with yesterday's Blue Origin flight:

Removing public art in an attempt to mollify a tyrant is not normal. Neither is the amount of control the #GOP has over #WashingtonDC. We need voting rights, now.

My bilateral mastectomy & reconstruction to treat #breastcancer was in 2021, and it took me until last month to decide to what tattoo to get to cover the scars. I can't believe how much more I finally feel like myself again!

I don't at all begrudge #wheelchair users getting discounted fares on #Eurostar ... but it would be nice if the company offered similar consideration to all #travelers with #disabilities.

Good advice - and further evidence that return to office was pushed through with no consideration for what that actually means to the region. Stay safe tomorrow, D.C.
There’s no math of parking lots and shuttles that work if everyone tries to drive. Take WMATA. Take VRE. Take MARC. Take transit.
For folks near Navy Yard, expect major congestion tomorrow. Requiring all in-person work without helping agencies plan = mess. 16,000+ employees all report in person. Expecting 8-10,000 cars, but have 4,473 parking spots. DC will pitch in with more TCOs & crossing guards, but avoid area if you can.

Having #chronicpain means reading this incredibly informative article in @nytimes.com about new research advances & pausing to look up every single doctor mentioned and find out if they're taking new patients. 😂
