my wife’s coworker has a son who played HS baseball and was on a really good team. the kid is now in college, his HS team had three kids who got TJS while in HS. can only imagine it’s even worse now.

It does break my heart a bit, that my son (now 11) didn’t pick the O’s as his team. But considering they were ass from the time he was 3-7 y/o, and they last won a playoff game when he was 5 months old can’t say I blame him.

my wife is from south jersey so she is a Phillies fan. our third year living together we watched the 2008 Phillies win the WS. my son is also a Phillies fan. sure there are 3 games a year where I’m like “fuck the Phillies”. But otherwise it’s really easy to root for both.

baseball is the most unapologetically cruel sport. especially for pitchers. I have seen it at every level, from my favorite MLB team to my son pitching in 10U tournaments. it’s brutal. the hard it what makes it great, etc. but remember it’s a game at the of the day.
