hello everyone redirected here from Retro Gamer. here's a pic of what i looked like when i started working in games a few millennia ago. you can often find me at the London Gaming Market if you wanna say hello in person and chat to me about old games that i made or better games that i didn't.
Managed to find the short/ bad joint on my Star Force that was causing some sound issues. It's now working again. 👍 I remember buying this from Raven Games almost 20 years ago, do they still exist I wonder.

Finally completed Sakura Taisen 5 on the PS2. It becomes the only franchise other than Bio Hazard where I've completed the first 5 main line entries. (NB: I will not be playing 6)

It is my ambition to make a game on the beloved Vectrex so I have been learning about its tech and limitations recently. This video tells me what I know already but never the less very interesting.
Take a look at this great video by the Slow Mo Guys. They explain how arcade game displays work - regular CRT and also Vector based ones. Without doubt the best explanation I've ever seen.

It is my ambition to make a game on the beloved Vectrex so I have been learning about its tech and limitations recently. This video tells me what I know already but never the less very interesting.
I used to play Gals Panic at Game Zone in the early 90s just off Manchester Piccadilly station heading into town. I revisited the building when I was there this Summer, it is now a hotel/ restaurant. Me trying to explain to a staff member what an amusement arcade is. Old man doing strange things.

To the contrary, I can say with confidence those physical models did indeed survive! Here's one shot of Plok. Have all the pieces, including the green half sphere (foam). Efforts underway to restore and display again as a diorama

I beat Sakura Taisen 4. It rounds up the story nicely. As such, I'm hesitant on starting part 5. Might take a break and attend to some Switch games instead.

I went to the Software Creations reunion in Manchester today. Took this pic with @carletonhandley.bsky.social holding C64 Millie & Molly on cassette. Don't know about him, but it's definitely my most critically acclaimed game ever. I quit while I'm ahead. 😆
