Genuinely powerful words to live by.

Reality is harsh right now. It's gotten bad, and not just in the furry fandom. The best I can say is, find your own group of open minded friends who you can have respectful and honest discussions with. You learn more about people with how they react to ideas they DON'T like. Good luck out there <3
cidcat.bsky.social
And in this fandom the definitions of those things change with the wind. At a some point you will meet psychos who will use compassion as a mask in order to exact revenge on people they label as "bullies". We've all been bullied and felt pain before, but some have let resentment take control.
cidcat.bsky.social
The furry fandom grew a lot more hostile in the 20 or so years I've been a part of it. It was not like this in '05

Some basics - Don't encourage, excuse or defend violence, Don't be hateful, and don't label/slander people. Seems simple enough but be careful, its a minefield out there.

That's a funny way to spell mouth ;3

I think—if I’m reading it right—it’s actually meant as a positive mantra! A lot of artists (myself included) struggle to even start because of the fear it won’t turn out “good.” It’s like buying a fresh sketchbook and then freezing up at that first blank page. (1/2)
dylancartoonell.bsky.social
I’m confused: Do people think “Make it exist now, make it good later” is a bad mantra? Do people think great art just bursts from the skull fully formed?

….is there anybody who can make that happen? If so tell me how! XD
cidcat.bsky.social
I also believe in the mantra of Jake the dog, "Sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something"

It's ok to feel unsatisfied, that's a part of the journey. A rather long part of it, but essential to growing. Early crappy art is the manure in which future flowers will grow :3

OH omg I feel dumb lol. Yeah no I think most people would be really good about that tbh. We're a pretty high trust fandom overall i think? This honestly sounds like a fine idea :3

Sorry I had a totally different idea of "self service" lol.
cidcat.bsky.social
@tartii.com to be clear, we're talkin about an unattended booth ehere people can take a sticker and leave cash in a lockbox, or order from a tablet with their cards without any face to face interaction? Cause that's what I'm envisioning when I hear the term self serve or am I misunderstanding?
cidcat.bsky.social
Perhaps I'm in the minority here, but I'm against the whole concept of self-serve at a con. To me the point is to talk to people, and make friends and socialize. But i also refuse self checkout at the grocery store for the same reason. Yep, just that socially starved and lonely 😹

Essentially summarizing Deltarune

Curse the character limit... but yeah agree! I'm really interested to see how Susie, Noelle and Kris all react to us when our true nature is revealed.

Getting trapped in the Angel ornament and at the "mercy" of Noelle and Susie was very metaphorical for how our relationship with them has developed
cidcat.bsky.social
Going with the Pinocchio analogy, Jiminy Cricket starts without knowing anything about Pinocchio. The conscience doesn't start with all the answers, it grows with the person its connected too. We're growing Kris's soul as some kind of divine influence. An Angel or a Demon going by the game's lore ;3
cidcat.bsky.social
Well personally I think that by helping Kris form friendships we are "getting stronger". That makes our connection with them even more powerful and integrated. There's going to be a point, where the characters will judge us based on how we've treated them I think.
cidcat.bsky.social
Im heavily invested in Kris's relationship/conflict with us. As well as the other characters that are becoming more aware of us too.

Are we Jiminy Cricket (Pacifist)? Or are we Tyler Durden (Weird)? The theme of connection was set in the very first lines and now I'm combing through CH1 again lol.
cidcat.bsky.social
RIGHT?! I've taken so many notes down about the Kris/Soul relationship, the puppet and free will metaphors, meta-stortelling, going through unused game files... I'm so deltaruined XD

I just got through the latest DeltaRune chapters... I really, REALLY want to talk about DeltaRune ♥️

Might have to do a whole theory podcast sometime soon @_@

I feel these exact feelings in my art too! I think creating anything with significant impact or meaning actually requires integrating these emotions into your journey. Now, they don't belong in the driver's seat lol, BUT they are definitely powerful motivators and are still essential for growth.

An epic piece for www.furaffinity.net/user/ananda./ who is making a really impressive fantasy table top game!

"We often squander our gifts, for our world is filled with magic. The Primal Horrors covet this, wishing to conjoin with our world and consume all that we selfishly take for granted..."
