There is! And they’re in a trademark dispute with a hockey equipment company so off to a great start :-/.

I feel like there needs to be a new word that means more than cooked. Beyond cooked. Carcinogenic?

Rhode Island is a little raccoon pet sanctuary in the middle of New England!

So fully committed he wants to just send a super chill, friendly reminder about it on a Wednesday night.

I requested an advance copy after you shared it awhile back and it was great - I shared it with a few friends. While they didn’t grow up on LI like I did, that is not a pre-requisite to enjoying it!

Did this with savoy cabbage because that it what I bought this week and it was a fine substitution! Between this and the kimchi I had with lunch, it has been a cabbage-filled day and I’m not complaining.
Braised Red Cabbage with Apple and Onion
Braised cabbage with apples is an easy side dish that comes together in 25 minutes and pairs well with roasted pork or turkey.

Dude is going to end up with Raleigh’s autograph on that t-shirt too once Cal sees this. Please don’t let him be a milkshake duck, we need nice things.

A gentleman with a "Dump Here 61" shirt caught the Raleigh home run (on a bounce.)

I hope Giorgiev finds a good home!

This calls for one of my favorite Gilmore Girls town meeting moments.

In looking at some Mets memorabilia, my son asked my husband “is that you?” when he held up a David Wright baseball card. I have to think that is the highest “out of the mouths of babes” compliment one can receive?

I’m a TS agnostic, but XTC would like a word.
Cover of XTC album NONSVCH - a sketch of Nonsuch Palace in yellow on a red background that is a pain on the eyes but a very good album.

Ironically, 1989 was the hardest album to let go of when I stopped listening to his music (don’t judge!).

Same! Although I am reflecting on the “slow reward” part and thinking about how when I listen to audiobooks, I do it at 1.3x speed. I want to capitalize on every minute I have to read which is not the point of reading for enjoyment, I know!

Seeing the 100th anniversary on the ice for the #NYR is a trip, because my husband and I went to soooo many games during their 85th season and that seems like just yesterday, but that is not the number on the ice anymore.

Love this from Phee - have to root against her on the court but a big fan when she isn’t playing my team.

Listen and decide for yourself. But I have to commend Phee for using her platform to call out abusive, manipulative, and dismissive tactics from the WNBA. (Part 2/2) #WNBASky

I took today off just to work on my dissertation. I feel like I’m firing on all cylinders (the nitro coffee is helping); I didn’t realize how much my work is compromised when I try to cram in an hour in between working, momming, homemakering, and crashing at bedtime.

I am a big history buff and I had enough to see but would have loved to have gone into the SUNY building, for example!

I am not a well-seasoned traveler but I am lucky enough to say I don’t have a “worst”! I wish more things were open on a weekend in Albany but that is a mild criticism at best.

What’s the worst city you’ve visited?

I’ll never go back to Myrtle Beach SC if somebody paid me

I chose self-care and went to the beach on this oddly beautiful day instead. I still remember what I was doing when they got eliminated in ‘07 and ‘08, and I didn’t feel like doing that again.

I’m not ready to relive the trauma of the 2007 and 2008 Mets all over again tomorrow, I’m just not ready.

My husband quoted a Maniscalco joke while we were out today and I got to share this story with him – I’m fun at parties.

My son looked slightlyyyy pale at bedtime tonight and the panic in my voice when I asked “are you feeling okay?!“ was palpable.

My first thought reading this was “Ken Jennings defended Bean Dad, though”, immediately followed by how I wish I didn’t know what those words meant.

Definitely saw this and thought it was the thing @bencollins.bsky.social alluded to yesterday!

True story: my husband had somehow put Jeremy on our playlist. It came on as he was driving me to the hospital to give birth (it was quite imminent), and I screamed “not now Pearl Jam!” in the middle of my contractions.

Jeremy was removed from the playlist after that.
