Oh, I could give you a list. 😀

Oh he's fantastic. I only had 300 characters to use, so I went with Veronica.

Nice take. I can say at least I was not bored.... and if you are, the amazing propulsive soundtrack will get you through. Indeed the most coherent of the 3- but not sure that is saying much. I did not go in 3D Imax, but I can imagine no movie better suited to this format.

Excellent article, articulated what I have been feeling since 82- I was ground floor on this one, first day of original release and already preconditioned to love this type of film and I was, well.... bored. Worse, I had to sit through it twice because my mom could only pick us up after 5:00.

for the talent on and behind the screen it's odd indeed. The film is quite well made. Does it have some issue ? Yes. Did it suffer from production issues ? yes- still it really deserves a better shelf in the video store of life. If for nothing else, then Cartwright's line delivery throughout.

Also, I always felt like it was Hopper's dry run at Frank Booth. Basically the same character.

I must say I love the premise and attention to period detail. I could see watching this on actual TV in the 70's

yeah, at once too real but also artificial.... I also think of this film as Hopper's dry run for Frank Booth

The Witches of Eastwick (1987) Dir. George Miller- Better than its reputation. Dark comedic tale of three women discovering magical powers delights with equal measures wit and chaos. Stellar cast but Veronica Cartwright steals the show with unhinged screen presence. Williams score is top notch. 🎞️📽️🎬

I really think When I was Your Age could be interesting.

River’s Edge (1986) Dir. Tim Hunter- No, the kids are not alright- this bleak, nihilistic vision of aimless youth is scarier than any horror film. Teens reacts with apathy to a friend’s murder, revealing moral collapse, fractured relationships, and a chilling portrait of suburban disconnection.🎞️📽️🎬

I lived in the tail end of these days. I had several of these, as well as Mothra, Godzilla and Star Wars....( or excerpts of each)

The other crazy baboon film...👍😀

Great clip but..... why do the bats sound like frogs ?

I've lived so far past carousel date I'm not sure what color my crystal would be.

You're hairspray bill alone is enough to eat up all the profits from the tilt-a-whirl.

I covered this some time back- it's just awful- I actually found no way to redeem it... even as low camp it fails. It's like the filmic version of liminal space- a void staring back at you.

Directed by Robert Altman of all people.

Listen, it's a good film- well done and acted. I think at the time, the joke was that Meryl was so many people- couldn't she be herself- then this. Either way- last laugh- she is a treasure.

They showed a preview of this film before its release- I know they were going for a serious film- but she she declared "The dingo, the dingo ate my baby" and the whole audience laughed, I knew they were going to be in for a tough time.
