Sure, maybe if the employees themselves are controlling the AI. But man it's hard to navigate the government and that's what gov employees help people do.

It got carved up by industry. Most of what it did doesnt really matter given industry has the real problems and they're out of reach of academia's abilities. There's some problems here and there, but they're insignificant.

You can kinda squint and say LLM Memory is a next gen academic IR.

Traffic cameras in nyc have been remarkably effective as deterrents, empirically much less biased than actual police, and also made the city $12m in profit each year over the past 25.
