1) Switching to doing a "simpler" (hahahaha!) game has helped me learn a little more. For instance, I was handling 2D sounds and AudioMixers slightly incorrectly.
While learning from YouTube videos is useful, they don't always give you the exact use case you are after.

There is currently an issue with the UK Met Office API which can result in a failure to retrieve a weather forecast in Compu-Tron x3000. I have raised a support ticket with the Met Office and I am awaiting a reply. Other users of this data have also reported the same issue.

It really is a great game. If you enjoy classic point and click games from Lucasarts, you will like this.
Progress on game#2 today:
- Animated tiles created and added to cut-scence 1 and 2
- Second cut-scene artwork and dialogue completed
- Update to enemy spawner: now shows an animated spawn point indicator for X seconds before enemy is spawned
