In another universe, he fields that grounder cleanly and gets an extra half second to understand what’s going on. In our reality he bobbled it and went into panic mode, sees the winning run sprinting home and lizard brains a throw to JT.

Yes. The error ended the game. It it’s not why the Phillies lost the series. And without the error, he makes that easy out at first and just got himself out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom 11th.
