The follow-up question would be: would the court be improved if they did?

I think the problem is with the selection and confirmation processes. Especially the latter, which has become an embarrassment if not a political crime.

I guess my question is where the leadership for a popular demand for a return to some sort of Constitutional order is going to come from. There have been a few efforts to organize for this beyond individual personalities, but they haven't seemed able to achieved traction.

Maybe. I think the later MLK at some level gave up on a lot of Americans. (I think Obama did too at the end of his first term.) No real evidence to point to for either view -- just a perception.

The ear-piercing, never ending whine of the American people, most of whom, compared to a great majority of the world's people, don't have that much to bitch about.

Kind of sad.

I remember some days when having a shower and a flush toilet were worth celebrating.
