buff.ly/Empl8ay ACA hikes likely now, upending healthcare. Bills were forced to the floor as a "discharge petition" - it's that urgent.

Though this is not a good outcome, we extend our gratitude to Senators Wyden and Merkley. Democrats must remain in solidarity for effective, affordable healthcare.
Competing health care plans fail in the Senate as ACA premium hikes loom
The outcome was widely expected after Democrats and Republicans released dueling bills. Congress is under pressure to address health care costs before federal subsidies lapse at the end of the year.

buff.ly/NgzsQzx This inhumane approach to unsheltered people is wrong. Unless your sole goal is cruelty, a poor solution.

Clackamas County must keep developing affordable units. The county is taking a right first step for unsheltered residents. But we must aim higher with an eye for compassion.
