We would like to hear your views on making and recording decisions regarding ‘not doing’ or ‘none interventions’ in primary care. What is the study about? The challenges of working in primary care can push healthcare professionals towards active management strategies for patients when a non-intervention approach may be appropriate. This can contribute to the overuse of healthcare in the UK. This research study aims to explore healthcare professionals’ experiences when navigating non-intervention treatment choices or decisions to 'not do’. ‘Not doing' refers to thoughtfully choosing an approach that avoids interventions in favour of options like watchful waiting or active observation. Am I eligible? We are looking for healthcare professionals in a primary care setting. Within your scope of practice, you prescribe medication, refer to secondary care services, order tests, and/or diagnose conditions. What would I need to do? If you agree, you will participate in one 45 minute interview, which will be conducted online at a convenient time. (If an online interview is not feasible, we can arrange alternatives.)
