If Australia really cared about young people's wellbeing they'd take stronger action on climate change and get kids out of prisons.

I really didn't get the very light touch prosthetic design for the Monster in del Toro's Frankenstein until I saw the film. Clearly we are supposed to be watching a young man. The setting change and various scripted moments essentially make the Monster another victim of the Crimean War.

Watching Oscar Isaac in #Frankenstein makes me think of his amazing performance in 2014's #ex_machina. I suppose Ex Machina is on some level a Frankenstein adaptation too!

You could put a whole bunch of human athletes in horse costume and have them run around the track. It would be entertaining and importantly, people would still bet on it.

Saw #twinpeaksfirewalkwithme last night. That film was ahead of its time in many ways but you could argue it fits a tradition of Gothic storytelling where the supernatural is a metaphor for unspeakable domestic horrors.

I'm sick of Australian commentators and politicians dumping on #basketweaving. Basket weaving is a complex and ancient mathematic and artistic practice. But it's practiced by women and First Nations makers so it must be useless 😑

Random questions from my four year-old: Did pterosaurs eat leaves? Did dinosaurs pollinate plants? Did dinosaurs do poos like birds?

Wake up. Watch 10 min of #scavengersreign . Cry. Go about my day.

Well elected representatives of Australia, you've got the Climate Change Risk Assessment. If you don't act on this our effed up future is on you.

Part of our haul from the local market run by ten and eleven year-olds. Maybe Gen Alpha will be okay after all.

I'm finally watching #scavengersreign and my four year-old is watching #biglizardtv. Xenobiology for the whole family!

There's apparently never enough money to properly fund the #NDIS and yet there's always money for useless defence projects and tax cuts for large corporations.....

I'm very late to the party but #sinners is such a wonderful film! Also, the best cinematic musical in years!!

Saw Ridley Scott's #legend1985 for the first time this week. Has anyone done a deep dive on this film? I have sooo many questions...

Them: Heat pumps, like they have in Australia.
Me, Australian: What the hell are heat pumps?

Oh, we call that reverse-cycle airconditioning. #heatpumps #climatechange

Don't worry everyone, there are still some constants in this world. There is a new #juliadonaldson adaptation for Christmas and #robbrydon is in it.

My three year-old has been enjoying #eurovision. She did 14 costume changes through semi final 2 so she definitely understands the brief.

The green spaces are in drought and the blue spaces are suffering from the algae bloom/ marine heatwave. We've had no autumn and little rain. Going outside does nothing for the spirits at the moment. #southaustralia #climatechange #climatecrisis
