October 18, Persons Day, is the day in 1929 when the Persons Case decision legally recognized that women are “persons” under Canadian law, allowing them to serve in the Senate.
October 17 is the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. Poverty means more than low income. It means exclusion from housing, justice, safety & dignity. At CLAS, we fight poverty by fighting systemic injustice.
