A whole lot of purple and a whole lot of heart! 💜

Staff wore purple yesterday to show support for victims and survivors of domestic violence.
#PurpleThursday is a national day of action each October during Domestic Violence Awareness Month

We are thrilled that senior attorney Katelyn Rowe's work is being recognized with NLADA's 2025 New Leaders in Advocacy Award. Congrats, Katelyn! 👏
As Senior Attorney at @clasocal.bsky.social, Katelyn Rowe has fought for nonprofits aiding domestic violence survivors and opposed unlawful censorship in Los Angeles' public libraries—serving communities in Orange and Los Angeles Counties with dedication and impact.
October is #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth. Our Family Law Unit staff has assisted countless survivors with gaining restraining orders against their abusers. Read Carlotta's story & how senior attorney Roxanne Hernandez helped her. #DVAM

At Community Legal Aid SoCal, our work helps people move from crisis to stability, and from stability to opportunity. That’s why the return on legal aid is so high—it helps people regain their footing and stay on solid ground.
From housing and healthcare to safety and income, civil legal aid reduces burdens on public systems and improves outcomes for entire families.

Missing a deadline, leaving a box unchecked, or submitting the wrong document can change the outcome of a case.

We guide litigants through every step—helping them understand deadlines, gather supporting evidence, and prepare for hearings so they can face the legal system with confidence.

1/2🧵 It takes lots of strength to leave an abusive relationship, especially since many women are often dismissed or discredited when they share their experiences.

We choose to use 'survivor' when talking about women who have experienced domestic abuse because:
Southeast Los Angeles County is an attorney desert. We are proud to operate the only legal aid offices in this region, representing low-income people in cases in which they would otherwise be left with self-representation as the sole option.
