But as we comply with court rulings, we are not going to do that: we are going to proceed in a dignified way and the council will continue to serve the people of Nashville. Nashville is strong and our people are strong and that’s not going to change. We will love and work together.

We, Nashville, just received an adverse decision in the Council Reduction Act case from the Court of Appeals. There will be further proceedings, and as you know, I strongly disagree with this decision. But let me say this: part of the goal of this Act is to pit Nashville against itself /

Congratulations to the East End Neighborhood Association, recognized with the MHZC’s annual Leadership Award for the community-driven process to update the design guidelines on South 10th/Shelby! It was a pleasure to work on, with special thanks to @brettawithers.bsky.social and @jeguth.bsky.social

Got to love a new arboretum in Nashville! Congrats to @freddieoconnell.bsky.social and @jkupin4d19.bsky.social for cutting the ribbon on the Nashville Downtown Arboretum. Rain moved the ceremony inside (despite my druthers) but drink up, trees, and grow strong!

Congratulations to Duke’s on their 10th anniversary! Great vibe right now, and lots of great bands later tonight. And congrats to the Rosebank neighborhood association on a really fun block party. A gorgeous day for a lot of stuff going on in East!

Huge thanks to NES and the crew for coming out late to turn the new lights on at the Shelby ball fields! With four games going on and just in time for that sunset!

We love hosting Nashville’s annual Arbor Day celebration in East Park. Special in particular this year are the memorial trees planted for Bill Freeman and Rev. James Lawson, both dearly missed. Thanks to all who came out: this is the 150th year of Arbor Day in Tennessee!

Powerful afternoon at the SEIU Town Hall, listening to Metro employees speak about the work they do—staffing schools, 911 dispatch, providing clean water, fixing roads, collecting trash, and on and on—they serve our city and need to be supported!

Trump and maga are pretending to be invincible. They aren’t. Not even close. They will try to dismantle free government in America, but the Constitution is stronger than them. We are stronger than them. Don’t be demoralized. It will be a long road, but they are not going to win. We are.
