I sincerely don't know what to say. Watching Kash Patel and Pam Bondi--the directors of the FBI and Attorney General of the United States--lie openly and SCREAM at sitting senators in a committee hearing. Screaming Reddit talking points and conspiracy theories and lies about the economy.

Idk man.

MAGA spent years screaming “LOCK HER UP,” now they’re screaming it at their own AG. Pam Bondi botched the Epstein files so badly her cult flipped in real time. From “loyal soldier” to “traitor” in one hearing. Turns out incompetence isn’t patriotic.

The thing I realized yesterday about the Worst Person in the World concept is that you have to rotate them.

Like, yesterday Pam Bondi was certainly the worst person in the world.

But today might well be someone else's turn!

I'm thinking Ron Johnson, but it's early yet.

Pam Bondi is literally saying what does it matter if we let rich men rape and traffick kids if the economy is doing well (it is not).

There it is y'all.

Naked, unabashed late-stage capitalism.

Trump opponents widely thought that Pam Bondi failed miserably yesterday in Congress. But Republicans also thought she did badly. How do we know? Because they aren't talking about it.

Silence about bad news is the number-one right wing media tell: Zero results for Bondi at Fox and Newsmax today.

We should pool our money and do a corporate raid on United health group. We would run it as a non-profit by investing profits strategically and reorganizing the company. Create a public, more affordable care option.

Cut unnecessary billing practices and set up hospitals on global budgets...

A major problem is the massive amounts of money being poured into politicians on both sides of the aisle to keep the profits for insurance and pharmaceutical companies outrageously high which is why Medicare for All or a single payer system hasn't passed when democrats have been in control either.

Canada is working hard to get rid of universal healthcare, at least in ON, BC and AB. It’s profoundly sad. Govts are starving the system so it will break, and covid helped enormously with their goals. So far, the new fed govt will not stop it.

The Medicare delivery system is already in place ..Just change the enrollment date to "at birth"..Policy options can be tweaked within that structure..After all the failures of our current health system let alone holding health care hostage by Republicans it's a viable option

Harris ran on it in 2019 but it was met with opposition from all sides. Polling the question Medicare-for-all guaranteeing health insurance as a right for all, its support was 71%. But when asked if they would pay more taxes, the popularity plummeted to 37%. Healthcare is a human right, period, IMHO

When I went for my "chemotherapy" consultation, I was told at the front desk "don't worry about costs, we can find you a good payment plan..."

And THEN I worried about co-pays, costs, and hitting my deductibles. This was when EACH VISIT with my insurance was $60 as a retiree.

In Missouri, hospitals are now allowed to take citizens to small-claims court for unpaid hospital bills. The court rules in the favor of the hospitals, & the patient now has a hospital bill to pay AS WELL AS COURT COSTS.
They go to jail because they can't pay court costs, & work for $.05 PER HOUR.

I hope that the marginal gains from the ACA plus the modern GOP’s general callous disregard for human life will help the scales fall from some people’s eyes.

If only “conservatives” had ever actually cared about spending money wisely. We’d have had universal health care in the 1940’s!
