when i was working on FixFox, the dev, Jarnik, asked me to also do some of the basic NPC dialogue in each area of the game, and it was some of the most fun I had working on that game, honestly. getting to think up the kind of personalities that would be in each area and flesh out the world was great
i take frenzy damage every time i see someone go "well i just use it for the boring stuff". what are you TALKING about? if it's boring or unimportant, why are you putting it in? NPC dialogue is fertile ground for worldbuilding, creating verisimilitude, conveying important information, and hijinks!!
Buy a solo indie dev's game because I want to support them.
Find out it uses OpenAI to write "non-important NPC dialogue".

i've been playing kirby air riders and really enjoying it, but one of the things that really sticks out to me a lot is not actually gameplay-related (for me) at all - it's the number of accessibility options the game has

i finished Shadow Labyrinth (bandai namco's weird pac-man sci-fi metroidvania) just under a week ago and tbh i quite enjoyed it. quite difficult but mostly not too unforgiving, and some cool new ideas going on in there

the free games on the epic games store would be far more compelling to me if the games had achievements.

one of the things i've seen taking off recently that i dislike are companies making "influencer" product review/demonstration-style videos. this company has been doing it for some time but it's getting more common

one of the more surprising things to me about the corpse party community is seeing people talk negatively a lot about Sweet Sachiko's Hysteric Birthday Bash. lots of people seem to think it just sucks but it was my second favourite of the series behind the original game (2021 version, granted)
