Though we’re disappointed to not see urgently needed cleanup this year, we’re grateful to the leaders who fought to #FixSB131 at the end of this legislative session. You are true champions for environmental justice. Let's get this across the finish line in 2026!
THANK YOU
Assemblymember Connolly, Senator Blakespear, and the many other legislators stood up for environmental justice and public health by fighting to clean up SB 131!

California Must Invest in Climate and Communities to Drive Climate Progress
The state has pioneered an approach—what’s worked, and what’s next?
EmailBlueskyLinkedInFacebookXShare
As solar and other climate infrastructure construction accelerates, and with Californians concerned both about the cost of living and about seeing local opportunities result from climate projects, the conversation about community benefits (commitments to hiring and other local investments made by developers in connection with new projects) has grown increasingly animated in California and even more so in this year’s legislative session. One component enabling successful deployment of community benefits tools is community capacity, including technical assistance and technical expertise. Over much of the last decade, the state has been funneling resources into this kind of support through a diverse set of climate initiatives.

onald Trump and his EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced their proposal to repeal protections that cut carbon pollution from power plants–a major source of the pollution that exacerbates climate change. These rollbacks will expose millions of Americans to more pollution, endanger our health, drive up costs and accelerate the climate crisis.

With your help, we worked hard to make these carbon pollution standards as strong as possible. Don’t let the Trump administration dismantle these life-saving protections. Sign this petition and we'll submit your comment to the EPA.

On the heels of the hottest year on record and major climate disasters like the Los Angeles fires, deadly heat waves in the Southwest, and Hurricane Helene, this administration is increasing pollution from power plants instead of taking action to protect everyone from climate change.

With their Polluters First Agenda, Trump and Zeldin are undermining the scientific basis for any climate pollution standards and replac
