This week the High Court heard Hopper v State of Victoria, the first of two landmark challenges to electoral laws that prop up the major parties whilst making it far harder for anyone else to compete

These cases go to the heart of #democracy: Who gets heard? Who gets funded? Who gets locked out?

In December, over 50% of eastern Australia’s power came from cheap renewables, cutting prices and replacing dirty fossil fuels.

Clean energy works and improves yearly.

Heatwave Woodside? Sounds about right to us. If you think heatwaves should be named after the fossil fuel companies that cause them, sign @mon4kooyong.bsky.social’s petition: www.moniqueryan.com.au/heatwave_pet...

Rural Australia doesn’t deserve this.

No one in Australia does.

But this is exactly what climate science has predicted.

Together we can climate-proof Australian politics, and protect this wonderful country of ours.

Will Australians continue to enjoy genuine choice at the next election? 🗳️ ⚖️

@simonahac.bsky.social weighs in on new laws that aim to entrench the major party duopoly at a time when Australians are asking for something different.

The major parties have rewritten election rules, making it almost impossible for anyone else to play 🎲🏠

Zoe Daniel and Rex Patrick are taking the duopoly to the High Court. Because when the game is unfair, it’s voters who lose out.

As Labor re-enters government with a clear mandate on climate, the North West Shelf will be their first big test. Can they be trusted to act?

It's so close in Goldstein the AEC will start a partial recount of first-preference ballots this Wednesday.

Australians are already living with the consequences of a changing climate. Our thoughts are with the communities affected by flooding in NSW.

Will the Liberal Party finally shift back to the centre?

The Nationals’ extremist agenda has gutted the Liberals' base, both have been relegated to observers in parliament. Independents held strong in once Liberal heartland, and voters sent a clear message.

Maybe, the Liberals will start listening

The federal Coalition is splitting up for the first time in 38 years, after the joint parties suffered a historic election wipeout. Will they reconsider their stance on climate? What the 2025 federal election shows is that no party without a credible climate policy can win government.

Over a million Aussies gave their number one vote to an independent this election. We’ve never seen anything like it. And it’s all because of your support 🩵

@nicboele.bsky.social winning Bradfield - ‘another blow to the Liberal Party'

#insiders discusses the deep flaws of the Liberal Party ‘Maybe they have to rebuild and have an actual fiscally conservative liberal party [and get rid of their far right]

On climate action @zalisteggall.bsky.social ‘‘No excuses [for Labor] not to be more ambitious. There’s a clear opportunity now….

Zali has proposed a climate resilience plan. But the coalition ‘still does not have a coherent climate policy’ #insiders

What a night! HUGE congratulations to all the community independent MPs and candidates, their teams, and volunteers who worked so hard. So far looks like the indie MPs have retained their seats, @nicboele.bsky.social has won Bradfield 🥳 and other new candidates are close!

A huge thank you to everyone who has shown support for the independents movement, and congratulations on everything that you’ve achieved in this campaign. Good luck, let the count begin!

Peter Dutton's Coalition continues to be an obstacle to climate action.

In case you missed it, @ausconservation.bsky.social and @climatecouncil.bsky.social also gave the party a rock bottom score on the environment.
