In Davos, Carney delivered a speech which will go down in history, with overtones of Churchill's 1936 speech about appeasement. Churchill applied this to Hitler’s expansion, Carney to economic coercion and great‑power rivalry. Further delay in confronting Trump = fewer choices and bad outcomes.
