THREAD: To mark the start of 2025, I've ranked the top 25 Oranje players since the turn of the century.

I only took into account what players have done in international football and obviously prioritised what they did at major tournaments, hence some choices that are maybe surprising...
Two tough tests against very good sides, good to see!
Noruega e Equador são os adversários da Holanda (Paises Baixos) nas datas FIFA masculinas de março de 2026, as últimas antes da Copa.

Bons testes.

The Netherlands' path at the 2026 World Cup, based on the world rankings:

R32: Morocco 🇲🇦
R16: Switzerland 🇨🇭
QF: France 🇫🇷
SF: Spain 🇪🇸
F: Argentina 🇦🇷

Just realised that if we top our group, we'll face the second placed team from Brazil and Morocco's group in the first knockout round, and if we come second, we'll face the winner of it...

Yeah, this really wasn't an easy draw for us.

Our World Cup group:

Oranje
Japan
Tunisia
Ukraine/Sweden/Poland/Albania

This World Cup draw may genuinely be the worst thing I've ever watched, and I've watched many hours of a Netherlands team managed by Danny Blind, so that's saying something

Best case scenario: Oranje, Australia, Tunisia, Haiti

Worst case scenario: Oranje, Morocco, Norway, Curacao
🏆 Official: The 2026 World Cup pots are set!

FIFA’s press service has released the final seeding pots ahead of the draw, which will take place on December 5.

We’re in for a group stage with 12 groups of 4 teams each, followed by the playoffs starting from the Round of 32.

What’s your dream group?

I've never been the biggest fan of Guus Til but there's a real case to be made for him returning to the Oranje squad at the moment.

Playing mainly as a striker, he has eight goals in his last nine.
November 30, 2025 at 1:50 PM
Peter Bosz follows up a 6-2 win over the Italian champions with a 4-1 win away to the English champions, all while playing great football and looking set to win a third league title in a row.

Just a reminder to the KNVB that he's out of contract in the summer...

Thought Valente looked really good when he came on today, and while Emegha's finishing was poor, his movement was great; we looked way more dangerous with a striker that made fast runs in behind and into the box.

Two exciting talents!

We're heading to the World Cup!

It was a worrying qualification campaign at times, but ultimately a successful one.
November 17, 2025 at 9:44 PM
Valente makes his debut! Really excited to see what he can do. Great player.
November 17, 2025 at 9:20 PM
Because of three goals in four minutes, people are going to completely forget about what was a really dreadful hour of football that preceded it, but I really hope Koeman doesn't...
November 17, 2025 at 9:11 PM
Malen makes it four! Nothing he loves more than bullying small nations 😂

And now Emegha is on, 30 minutes to show what he can do 🙏
November 17, 2025 at 9:07 PM
Lovely goal from Xavi 😍

Gakpo makes it 2-0 from the spot

HT: Oranje 1-0 Lithuania...

De Jong, Reijnders and Timber have been pretty good but there aren't many more positives... 0.82 xG in a half of football against Lithuania is not good.
November 17, 2025 at 8:36 PM
Reijnders fires in to give us a lead!

That's why you play him in a deeper role instead of Gravenberch, his off-the-ball runs from deep are so dangerous
November 17, 2025 at 8:03 PM
Back to a De Jong/Reijnders duo for tonight, with Timber moving to RB. We'll probably finally use the system we played vs Spain again, with the RCM getting forward and the RB inverting.

Don't mind Simons and De Ligt getting chances, but would have preferred Van de Ven over Ake.
November 17, 2025 at 6:32 PM
Dumfries out of the squad... Call up Mauro Junior 🙏
Notícias da seleção da Holanda (Países Baixos): já fora contra a Polônia, Dumfries agora definitivamente é desligado da delegação da Laranja

Não joga contra a Lituânia, na próxima segunda, e já se reintegrou à Inter de Milão.

Peter Bosz was vague on if he'll renew his PSV contract at the end of the season in an interview today, saying he's still deciding what he wants to do with the last years of his career. It sounds a lot like he's waiting to see if his dream job as Oranje coach becomes available...
November 15, 2025 at 4:04 PM
Since the Euros, we've won just seven of our 15 matches, dropping points against Hungary, Bosnia and Poland (x2) and failing to win any of our four matches against top nations.

Gives very little reason to be optimistic about the World Cup.
November 15, 2025 at 10:35 AM
FT 1-1. We'll be heading to the World Cup thanks to our massively superior goal difference, but it won't be a World Cup to remember if tonight is anything to go by.
November 14, 2025 at 9:44 PM
Emegha on for his debut! At least there's something to be happy about 😅
November 14, 2025 at 9:36 PM
We're basically certain of World Cup qualification as it stands, but hard to get excited about that with how we're playing...
