Innovation is great and all, but this reminded me of just how much I miss the excitement of anime first becoming more well known in the US. Book stores were still around. Malls were popular. I'd buy manga once every couple of months at Borders. From 2005 - 2009 Shojo Beat existed...

It started on Adult Swim unedited and then moved to Toonami with much much editing. The last time I watched it there, the dark tournament storyline had been in what felt like an endless loop. CN lost the rights to it in 2006 or so. I'm honestly not sure if the full series aired. It's over 100 eps.

On February 23, 2002 I watched the first episode of Yu Yu Hakusho as part of Adult Swim's anime lineup. Tonight, 24 years later, I finally watched the last. It feels so strange to be able to say I know how the story ends after all this time.
