Last week, we attended @aminamwrc.bsky.social & Scot Gov #TheHiddenHarm event to examine how the far right weaponises VAWG, fuels racism & threatens women’s safety.

Together we can reclaim the fight against gender-based violence through an anti-racist and intersectional lens.

Employers play a key role in tackling all forms of VAW. This starts with understanding the impact it can have on women and their experience at work.

Our #16DaysOfActivism blog discusses what needs to be done to make workplaces safer for victim-survivors of sexual violence.

While there is focus on getting more disabled people into work, there’s much less on supporting progression.

Only 17% of disabled women felt their employer provided clear opportunities for progression.

#ExcludedByDesign
Colleague doubts and judgements were a common theme with 81% of disabled women feeling the need to work harder to prove they were as capable as non-disabled colleagues.

One participant told us: “I have been made to feel a burden and not a team player.”

Yesterday, we were at NHS Golden Jubilee speaking to medical staff about sexual harassment in the workplace.

It was great to engage on key issues around how sexual harassment impacts staff and the wider organisation, and also what the law says.

🔜 Looking forward to our further sessions with them.

🫶 We’re proud to support #LivingWageWeek as both a #LivingHours & #LivingWage employer. Low pay & insecure employment are key drivers of women’s workplace inequality.

A #LivingWage & #LivingHours can improve the pay & conditions for women in low-paid work & help close the pay gap.

🧵 Scotland's abortion law is outdated. We've joined the Let's change the Act campaign to demand:

1️⃣ Full decriminalisation of abortion.
2️⃣ A modern, health-based framework to replace the Abortion Act 1967.

Time’s up for outdated abortion laws
In the face of rising challenges to women’s rights in Scotland, it is essential that we safeguard women’s health by modernising abortion law in line with modern healthcare standards.
